DCHS Literary Places Second in Region

Overall, the DCHS Literary Team place second in the region.


Regional Literary Winners included Macy Pruitt, first place in Girls Solo; Mark Lucas, first place in International Extemporaneous Speaking; Olivia Cranford, first place Humorous Oral Interpretation; Jade Honeycutt, first place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking; Katilen Rowland, first place Personal Essay; Amber Maxwell, second place in Dramatic Oral Interpretation; Cassie Thomas and Leah Watkins, second place in Duo Oral Interpretation; Emily Bush, Olivia Cranford, and Destiny Mitchell, third place in Trio; Jordavian Benefield, third place Boys Solo; Lindsey Rahn, second place in Rhetorical Essay; and Jacob Snyder, third place in Argumentative Essay.


On Saturday, March 18, the Literary Team carried five First Place Region winners to State Competition at Houston County High School. All five also placed at the state level: Macy Pruitt, third place in Girls Solo; Mark Lucas, third place in International Extemporaneous Speaking; Olivia Cranford, fourth place in Humorous Oral Interpretation; Jade Honeycutt, fourth place in Domestic Extemporaneous Speaking; and Katilen Rowland, fifth place in personal essay.
